First it was a rumor, now the official confirmation of the mega deal is present: Microsoft takes over the Game Publisher Activision Blizzard, which is known for games like Call of Duty, Warcraft and Diablo. According to the press release, Microsoft makes the record amount of almost $70 billion loosely for the acquisition, which corresponds to around 62 billion euros. The investment is likely to be worthwhile: After completing the transaction, Microsoft is behind Tencent and Sony as the third-largest gaming company in the world.

Microsoft announced that you want to integrate much of the Blizzard titles into the Xbox Game Pass. So games like Diablo, Overwatch or Call of Duty could soon be in the Xbox offer. The subscription for Gamers currently lists 25 million subscribers.

Blizzard: last overshadowed by scandals

In the past, Blizzard had risen several times because of his miserable working conditions in the critique. Recently, 2021 a sexism scandal shook the company.
